President Boakai Receives Letters of Credence from Ambassadors of Australia and Mexico

Executive Mansion, Monrovia - President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., this morning received the Letters of Credence from Her Excellency Berenice Owen-Jones, Ambassador-Designate of the Commonwealth of Australia, and His Excellency Normal Ang Sanchez, Ambassador-Designate of the United Mexican States, at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.

Today’s ceremony follows the presentation of Letters of Credence on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from the Ambassadors-Designate of Spain, Pakistan, the Philippines, Ghana, and Mali—highlighting Liberia’s expanding diplomatic engagements and growing global partnerships under President Boakai’s Administration.

Presenting her credentials, Ambassador Berenice Owen-Jones expressed Australia’s interest in deepening cooperation with Liberia, particularly in areas of education, governance, climate resilience, and sustainable development. She conveyed her Government’s readiness to strengthen ties with Liberia and explore new avenues for collaboration.

Ambassador Normal Ang Sanchez, in presenting his credentials, highlighted Mexico’s desire to enhance bilateral cooperation with Liberia, focusing on trade, agriculture, and cultural exchange. He noted that Mexico sees Liberia as an important partner in advancing South-South collaboration and mutual development goals.

President Boakai, welcoming both ambassadors, commended their governments for their longstanding friendship with Liberia and expressed optimism that their respective missions would further strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. He emphasized his Administration’s strides in rebranding Liberia’s international image and building meaningful partnerships that support the country’s growth and transformation.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
