President Boakai Tours BAO CHICO Pier Facility in Royesville

Executive Mansion, Monrovia — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, visited and toured the BAO CHICO Pier Facility currently under construction in Royesville Township, Montserrado County.

The visit formed part of the President’s ongoing efforts to closely monitor major infrastructure projects intended to strengthen Liberia’s maritime and logistics capacity, enhance trade facilitation, and create employment opportunities for Liberians.

During the tour, President Boakai received briefings from project managers and relevant government officials on the scope of the project, the level of completion, and its anticipated economic impact.

The BAO CHICO Pier Facility, upon completion, is expected to significantly improve port services, support private sector growth, and expand access to modern maritime infrastructure in Montserrado County and surrounding areas.

President Boakai reiterated the importance of quality execution, transparency, and adherence to agreed timelines, stressing that infrastructure investments must translate into tangible benefits for the Liberian people.

The President was accompanied by senior government sector officials and representatives of the private sector.
